4 keys to success and building momentum in your life, both personally and professionally:
1. Determine your own path. Ignore those who try to crush your dreams. Believe in yourself and know that you are worth it. Be who YOU are.
2. Surround yourself with good people – those that support you and love you. Tough love is good. But non-supportive negative people are not.
3. Don’t allow your past challenges and failures to dictate your future. We all fail. Failures are our best teachers. Learn from them. Grow from them.
4. Stay true to your values. There are times you will be tested. Stay true to who YOU are. Integrity and character count – never forget that.
These things have helped me in my life and business and can help build momentum in your life.

Try to always assume positive intent. This is a tenant of the Girls on the Run philosophy that I embrace. When someone does something that seems negative toward you or not in line with a positive outcome- try to assume positive intent on their part. This takes you out of the space of reacting to the negativity and allows you to view things more objectively. Perhaps they didn’t mean what they did/said the way you took it or received it, and if they did, maybe the motivation wasn’t what you think it was. We have to stop jumping to conclusions about what others are saying/doing without first trying to understand where they are coming from. Most people are simply trying to make their own needs known and want someone to listen. Let’s all be more open to understanding and supporting one another when we can. Assume positive rather than negative intent.
Be authentic and use the Golden Rule as your Guide
It’s easy to get stagnant in the routine (work and otherwise) and forget these pieces of wisdom. Thank you for the reminder!
Four easy things to do daily that will help you! Who knew it was so easy! Thank you for the encouragement.
Hi Kim! I would add encouraging people to restart something they know they need to be doing more consistently.
I also like you bringing up values in this context, as I believe we don’t examine them and get clarity on how well we are aligning our efforts and daily chaos with them often enough.
